Each year in late fall Pantone chooses its color for the upcoming year. Drumroll please…. introducing Marsala. You’ll be seeing it in fashion, makeup and interior design to name a few.
Color is the most powerful element in your wardrobe. Wearing your best colors makes you look younger, healthier and more vibrant. Wearing colors that don’t suit your natural coloring can make you look sick and tired. If you’re not sure what your best colors are, check out Color Rx– Color advice on your mobile device. Carefully follow the app’s directions, learn your best colors and have your color palette at the tips of your fingers every time you shop.
Pssst- I’ll share a couple of style secrets I tell all of my clients.
- If you want to remain fashion forward and not break the bank, add a few key color trend pieces every year. They can be in the way of a scarf, shoes, handbag or a classic blazer. The possibilities are endless.
- If Marsala is strong in your color palette, stock up! It may be years before you’ll have the wide ‘Marsala’ selection again.
Every palette can wear Marsala when paired correctly! Some suggestions for you:
Spring Color Palettes – can pair Marsala with Coral and Gold.
Summers – pop Marsala with Lilac and Gray.
Autumns – have the most versatility and can pair with Apricot, Bronze and Coconut (amongst numerous other combinations).
Winters – think Teal, Aqua and Cobalt.
What do you think of Pantone’s color choice. How will you wear it?
